HPNOTIQ Kicks Off NYFW With Cocktails & Couture

This weekend, the HPNOTIQ crew celebrates New York Fashion Week with Cocktails and Couture– an event for online editors, brands, PR reps and bloggers from the beauty, fashion and lifestyle world.

Off the heels of success from last year’s NYFW Media Mixer, veteran beauty expert and makeup girl Lianne Farbes brings us another Fashion Week party to focus on pampering those working hard during the hectic perils of Fashion Week. Guests will be treated to skincare products from beauty specialist Mario Badescu as well as on-site makeovers from the professional staff at Soho’s Lifestyle Aveda Salon.

HPNOTIQ will be providing our signature cocktail, Blue Crush, along with a very special Cocktails and Couture Martini to keep all of the fabulous media mavens in good spirits!

Ladies We Love: Eyewear Diva Kerin Rose

Recently deemed one of Time Out’s Most Stylish New Yorkers, eyewear designer Kerin Rose is a true embodiment of all things outrageous and glam, kind of like if pin-up met punk.

With her bedazzled looks donned by celebrities such as Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Katy Perry and most notoriously, Lady Gaga, Rose has quickly skyrocketed to the top of the high-fashion eyewear game. And we’re not talking Kanye West stunna shades circa 2005… these creations are elaborate to the nines with studs, Swarovski crystals, feathers and lace.

In 2008, after years of being stopped in the street for her hand-made eyewear art, Rose launched the extravegant accessories line, A-Morir. And with all her eyewear pieces named after musicians or songs, it’s no wonder Kerin’s work has been extra clad in the music industry– not to mention, the show-stopping power boost the eyewear itself guarantees to any performance.

Each eye-catching set of glasses is hand-crafted by Kerin herself and can cost up to $700– but if you think you have the gumption to pull these bad boys off, you can find a pair for close to regular designer prices. And if you can’t swing it, we suggest you keep tabs on this girl about town and all of her amazing looks on Twitter.

Would You Buy A Wedding Dress From Urban Outfitters?

Urban Outfitters, the one-stop shop for all things on trend, are set to launch a bridal collection just in time for the most romantic holiday of the year!

Bhldn, which has been said to stand for the word Beholden, will include a collection of wedding gowns ranging from $1,000-$4,000 as well as well as special occasion dress for bridal showers, engagement parties and even bridesmaids.

Among the dresses will also be an expanding line of accessories which currently includes veils and shoes, and will ultimately provide everything from place cards, cake pedestals and other table arrangements.

Kristin Norris, Bhldn’s managing director, told Women’s Wear Daily, “We’re confident that we’re filling in space that no one’s filling in. We’re offering a take that’s not out there. We have a lot of shorter dresses, lots of color and prints and no optic white dresses. Traditionally, people got married in churches. Now, they’re getting married on beaches and mountain tops. We’re building our assortment for the ultimate end use.”

The collection will be available online only on February 14th, expanding to only 2-3 stores come 2012.

We’re in love with the idea of trendy bridal gowns that stray a bit from the idea of traditional wedding garb… but will the Urban Outfitters dresses hold up to their promises? Would you wear one of these designs to your wedding?

Khloe & Lamar Launch Fragrance In Time For Valentine’s Day

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have been married for a little over one whole year, which of course means that they’ve reached the next step in their relationship…

What step might that be, you ask? Well, launching their own fragrance of course!

The unisex scent, appropriately named Unbreakable, marks the first business partnership of the two under the reign of Kris Kardashian.

Odom hired his mother-in-law as manager late last year and if Khloe and Lamar’s racy commercial is any indication, we can pretty much get a handle on Kris’ business motto.

We’re guessing “less is more,” but we already knew that from every commercial sister Kim has been in…

Cover Watch: Lady Gaga’s March Vogue Cover Leaked

A few days ago, the internet got wind of next month’s Vogue cover girl– and who else to cause the web to go aflutter than Lady Gaga herself?

The 23-year-old sensation tweeted “They used to call me rabbit teeth in school, and now I’m a real live VOGUE BEAUTY QUEEN!” as a heartfelt preview of her first ever Vogue cover shot by legendary fashion photographer, Mario Testino.

Although the only available image of the cover is small and blurry (repurposed here from what seems to be a cell phone photo), we can say the shot is nothing short of high-fashion with a Gaga twist. Wearing a Haider Ackermann jumpsuit and short pink bob — a bold move for Vogue — the pop queen looks oddly ethereal yet fierce.

The feature article’s title, “Born This Way,” is of the same name as Lady Gaga’s newest single — set to premiere a few days before Valentine’s Day — off her new album which will drop in the Spring. Number one Gaga fan Perez Hilton recently released the lyrics to the gay anthem, calling it “a smash.”

Richie Rich Opens Fashion Week Show To The Public

During New York Fashion Week, one of the hottest tickets in town is the Richie Rich runway show– an anything but traditional fashion strut filled with celebrities as models, an after-party feel and outrageous outfits.

Unlike many of the other shows in which emotionless models show off the collections, Rich’s runway revolution is upbeat and over the top… and now, you can be a part of the fun!

New York glam-punk designer Richie Rich is giving regular folks the chance to rub elbows with the fashion glitterati — and maybe even celeb fans like Pamela Anderson and Ellen DeGeneres (who walked in his show last year!) — and to help others while hobnobbing.

For his February 10th “Villionaire” show at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, the designer is selling seats at the show for between $20 and $40, with proceeds going to charitable organizations DoSomething.org and Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. Kim Kardashian Celebrates Launch of Her New Jewelry Line

We just can’t get enough of Kim this week! And even though we don’t think she’d make the best Bond Girl and think her commercial spots may be a bit too racy, we’re totally excited for Belle Noel– her new jewelry line collaboration with designer Pascal Mouawad.

The reality star celebrated the official launch of her newest creations in Los Angeles last night, looking super chic on the red carpet in a fitted blazer, tousled hair and, of course, a pair of sexy Louboutins and even rocking a few of the line’s signature pieces– which are available now at Revolve Clothing!

The collection includes a varied range of cocktail and costume jewelry– from overstated rings, simple lockets, bangles and even ankle bracelets (are those back in now!?), all adorned with the flashy Kardashian style we’ve come to love!

Although we’ve seen jewelry from Kim before — namely the collaborative effort of her and her sisters with the gothic inspired Virgins, Saints and Angels — we’re excited to see a line of super modern pieces at affordable prices. Most Belle Noel pieces can be found in the $20-80 range, with only a few eye-catching baubles pricing over $100.
