Ladies We Love: MadeMe’s Streetwear Maven, Erin Magee

After talking about the new Vans x Santigold collaboration last week, we wanted to spotlight the lady who brought street sneakers back onto our radar– Erin Magee of MadeMe.

Since the debut of her first collection in 2007, Erin’s MadeMe has not only become one of New York’s trendiest apparel outposts, but a national phenomenon– because what girl can get enough of graphic tees and leather jackets made with fashionable ease?

At first glance, Magee may seem to be the quintessential hipster but with a soft spot for Madonna and Chanel, we can totally relate. And although Magee is best known for her streetwear collection, which combines downtown rocker-chic and boyfriend sweater comfort, she was also the girl to keep comfort classy by bringing Louboutin red to the soles of ladies’ sneakers with her very own edition of Vans.

Besides, how many people do you know that have started a fashion line and within four years had celeb fans like Alicia Keys? Serious props to Erin for making her dreams a reality! Now, can we get a discount?

Let’s face it, the ladies of Bravo’s Beverly Hills are kind of a snooze… minus all that Fraiser drama and the hilarious Ellen parodies.

Well, the ladies have another reason to step it up with the network’s announcement of a Miami edition of everyone’s favorite Housewives. And with the addition of a little Latin fire, as well as the introduction of a drag queen to the extended cast, we’re guessing there’s going to be some serious heat this season!

Watch out, Kris Humphries: Kim Kardashian’s got her arms around a shirtless man’s neck. Or maybe that is Kris Humphries’s neck. You’ll have to watch the Super Bowl to find out.

Kardashian, 30, appears in a sexy commercial for Skechers Shape-ups footwear that’ll air Sunday during the fourth quarter of the big game between the Steelers and Packers.

Hot Topiq: Putting Money Where Kanye’s Mouth Is

There’s been many an occasion that Kanye West has been sited as a young Black Karl Lagerfeld… usually by himself. And if this photo says anything, it’s that the previous statement is not that far from true. But not often do we get to see two greats, in their own right, collaborate on something so simple that can make a slow news day.

Take the upcoming issue of V Man magazine with ‘Ye on the cover, shot by Mr. Lagerfeld himself– although not nearly as risqué as those nude photos of his very own boy toy (NSFW). The trick pony here is a real dollar bill shoved in the mouth of the 33-year-old rap superstar… as if we didn’t already know that every word that Kanye says turns into cash.

Hot Topiq: Could Kim Kardashian Be The Next Bond Girl?

After the Kardashian with the show stopping booty announced that she’d like to make moves onto the big screen, specifically alongside a famous 007, our friends over at PopEater asked the important question– is she actually ready?

Kim Kardashian recently told E! News she wants to go tit-for-tat with England’s most famous secret agent. “I would love to be in a Bond film — a Bond Girl,” she said. “That would be the ultimate.”

Booty Galore does have a nice ring to it. But to be a Bond Girl is no mean feat, as any serious 007 fan will tell you, Kim. Only the most confused members of our species could argue you don’t possess the obvious qualities one must have. That’s good. That’s a start. But reducing steely men to mush with a mere wiggle is not enough — just ask Britt Ekland (Mary Goodnight) or Denise Richards (Christmas Jones).

Share Your Goddess Moments To Raise Money For Education

As spokesperson for the newest campaign from Gillette Venus, Jennifer Lopez lets us know that being a Goddess consists of “one part inner beauty. One part outer beauty. And one part 5-inch heels.”

And since we’re firm believers in the empowerment of women, we’re happy to see a company that is focused on beauty doing their part to let us know that we’re all beautiful in our own way, all while raising money for education.

Venus is currently asking for us ladies to submit our personal Goddess stories — whether about landing that dream job, dream man or just relaxing with our friends — and for each story shared, Gillette will donate $1 to the Venus Goddess Fund for Education, along with a guaranteed donation of $65,000 between the Set Up Women’s Network and CARE International.

The Venus Fund is committed to helping give women and girls across the world a better chance to succeed by providing books to children in third world countries, teen mentorships and scholarships for women in need, to name a few. Man of the Month: James Franco, Our Favorite Enigma

James Franco is the epitome of an enigma. One moment he is a serious award-winning actor strutting down a red carpet, the next moment we find him as a blonde wig-wearing performance artist at the Sundance Film Festival. Beyond his artistic craft (which often includes drag), Franco now adds entrepreneur to his resume, with the opening of a new “secret” bar in Los Angeles called The Writer’s Room.

And let’s not forget Franco will serve as this year’s Oscar nominated Oscar host– meaning he is, in fact, hosting and up for an award for his newest film 127 Hours in the same night… which has only happened seven times in the history of the award show.

The NY Post recently pegged James Franco perfectly with the following phrase–”Formerly just an actor, now a phenomenon.” And if you’ve been following the 32-year-old star’s career rise, you’re probably enthralled, as well as a bit confused. But we not only respect the man, we also happen to think he’s extra dreamy…

Meaning, he can wear dresses and take stoner roles all he wants with a mug like that!

Cover Watch: Jennifer Aniston as Barbie Doll for Allure

We’ve always been fans of Jennifer Aniston– from her days on Friends to the bitter love battle over Brad Pitt as well as her light-hearted film roles.

And although she may look stunning on the cover of this month’s Allure magazine, Aniston actually looks nothing like the girl next door we’ve come to know and love.

Now don’t get us wrong, we love a good makeover as much as the next girl but it seems like our once beloved Rachel is trying to be a little more Olsen twin in these photos– with big blonde hair, unnatural blue eyes (her eyes are brown which she has been covering up with colored contacts for years), and pursed lips.

Quite the opposite of her newest role as the nerdy co-worker of Adam Sandler’s character in Just Go With It– although there is an ugly duckling theme through the film, transforming Aniston into a hot fake ex-wife, which may have taken over the star in real life. But why is she trying so hard? Seriously… why the duck face, Jennifer? We like you just the way you are, or um, were…
