HPNOTIQ Hotspot: Ft. Lauderdale’s Exit 66 Pool Party

It’s vacation season, which means it’s time to head South– where the weather is warmer, the people are bathing suit fit and it’s totally acceptable to throw a boozy daytime pool party. Luckily, we know just the place!

Not only is Exit 66 one of Ft. Lauderdale’s premiere party destinations — alongside it’s brothers and sisters Dirty Blondes sports bar, Rock Bar, Spazio and Sangrias restaurants — but this expansive tri-level oceanfront nightclub has a secret weapon.

With over 10,000 square feet of sprawling coastal oasis, the Pool @ Exit 66 is lined with gorgeous semi-private VIP cabanas for you and 10 of your closest friends. And although bottle service poolside may be where it’s at, we suggest taking a break from the heat to get wet!

There’s basically nothing better than hanging out poolside with your favorite gal pals, while your HPNOTIQ cocktail compliments the shimmery blue of the refreshing water– vacation days, here we come!

Cover Watch: Britney’s Back And Better Than Ever

Here at HPNOTIQ, we’ve been raving about Britney’s big comeback, and for Spring 2011 Spears takes to the cover of V Magazine with a radiant glow!

Shot by the wonderful Mario Testino, Britney bares it all in the pages of her “Hold It Against Me” feature– from staying true to herself and cooking for her boys, to what inspires her.

“I like music that makes you move and connects with your soul. I like to feel inspired right away when I listen to new music,” she tells the fashion mag. “…From there I just follow my heart.”

Although the songstress has been at the center of both good and bad media attention in recent years, there’s no denying that Britney has evolved considerably from the girl we met over 10 years ago. And even though she proudly proclaimed that “the b—- is back and better than ever,” the star confesses that she finds herself, now at the age of 29, she much more guarded than before.

“I think it’s easier to let people in when you’re younger, but when I became a mother I wanted more privacy for myself and my children. A life away from my life,” she said.

With a newfound personal maturity in addition to the complete craze over Femme Fatale, due out on March 29th, we’re excited to see Miss Spears at the top of her game again! And it looks like we’re not the only ones to add her to the top of our Ladies We Love list… check out more photos from the V Magazine spread after the jump!

Ladies We Love: Elizabeth Olsen, The Other Olsen Sister

Earlier this year, all eyes were on Elizabeth Olsen as the new leading lady at the Sundance Film Festival.

The younger sister of ultra-famous Mary-Kate and Ashley paved her own path at the festival starring in not one, but two breakout films.

As leading lady in both Martha Marcy May Marlene and psychological thriller Silent House, Lizzie showed us emotionally charged performances that have since gained her comparisons to Maggie Gyllenhaal– and definitely catapulted her from any shadow that may have been cast by her older siblings.

You can often catch Olsen about town in all of the hottest places in New York City, such as her recent 22nd birthday celebrations at The Jane Hotel, but she’s not your average party girl. The young actress is full of ambition putting her studies in Psychology at NYU at the top of her list, no matter how busy she may be filming new projects.

“I’m so lucky that school is always there for me when I take these little breaks,” Elizabeth told The Hollywood Reporter. “But my education is always a priority.”

And what’s next for this rising young star? A starring role in her biggest project yet alongside Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver, and Cillian Murphy in next year’s Red Lights. Move over MK and Ashley, there’s a new Olsen in tinsletown!

HPNOTIQ Hotspot: Waterfront Dinner and Dancing at Miami’s Kitchen 305

Located in the Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort, Kitchen 305 is not your average dining experience. As if the coastal cosmopolitan atmosphere wasn’t enough, no two nights at this sophisticated yet inviting restaurant and lounge are the same!

Chef Julius Brown, previously from some of New York and Miami’s finest dining establishments, brings us waterfront dining while the nightly DJs and live music bring the heat.

So if you’re perfect night out includes dinner and dancing, you’ll be happy to sip on your favorite HPNOTIQ cocktail, enjoy creatively named dishes — we’re partial to the Color Me Bluefin Tuna — and top it off with some live salsa, jazz or funk!

And for those who crave an alternative to the Ft. Lauderdale and South Beach scenes, we recommend hitting up Entrée Saturdays — Sunny Isles Beach’s most talked about, waterfront dinner party and after hours lounge — or Vanity Tuesdays, or Goddess Wednesday or, well, you get the point… Kitchen 305 is definitely at the top of our Miami Girls’ Night Out destinations, any night of the week!

Cover Watch: Kim Kardashian Channels Cleopatra, Interviews Elizabeth Taylor

After her nude and unretouched debut for Harper’s Bazaar last April, Kim Kardashian returns to the cover of this month’s issue emmulating her idol– Elizabeth Taylor.

Shot by the ever-so-scandalous Terry Richardson, the surprisingly tame covershoot has Kim dolled up in Taylor’s iconic role as Cleopatra. And although Kim always looks wonderful in photos, we’re not sure anyone could ever beat the original.

In the pages of the magazine Kim opens up about her business empire, hit TV shows, and an unstoppable ambition which she credits to her late father, lawyer Robert Kardashian.

“I would absolutely characterize myself as ambitious. [...] My parents raised us saying that at 18, we’d be cut off,” she explains.

We can’t deny that the girl works– amongst all of the fame and recent buzz of Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Sunday’s episode will see the debut of Kim’s one-off single, “Turn It Up.”

Produced by The-Dream and featuring none other than Kanye West, the socialite’s musical debut will be featured in a Hype Williams’ directed video.

In addition to paying homage to Elizabeth Taylor’s iconic role as Cleopatra, the sparkling gem in this month’s issue of Bazaar is the interview Kim conducted with her idol. Taylor, who celebrated her 79th birthday on Sunday, recently joined Twitter and Kim showed us her nerdier side by asking the Hollywood legend to follow her on the social media site.

Read the ladies’ conversation here and check the rest of the photos from the shoot after the jump…

Has Lady Gaga Finally Gone Too Far?

Off the heels of newest video for “Born This Way,” which goes a notch above the usual Mama Monster madness, Lady Gaga announces that her upcoming fragrance will actually contain her blood.

Ummm… seriously?

Our fab friends over at SheFinds have the shocking story:

In January, Lady Gaga revealed that her upcoming perfume would smell like “blood and semen,” which was offensive enough, but it turns out she wasn’t kidding. According to Gaga, the scent will actually contain her blood (and God knows whose semen) at a “molecular level,” but that the fragrance will actually be “expensive hooker.”

Check out the video for “Born This Way” after the jump to see what we’re talking about… and be sure to let us know what you think, because we’re just not sure anymore!
