Top 10 Lies Men Tell Women

We all know we’ve told a few white lies here and there when in a relationship. Heck, there are even common lies women tell men, but, it’s also no secret that men have told us tall tales, and many of these lies are oh-so-common.

1. “I’ll call you tomorrow” – If a first date just didn’t seem to produce heart-throbbing fireworks, he’s not going to call you back. Ever. Seriously. And trust me, it’s okay! Behind the Scenes at Sammy B’s S/S 2012 Runway Show

It was a star studded affair at last night’s Fashion Week showcase featuring designer Sammy B’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, and Hpnotiq was front-row-center for all the excitement. Celebrity sightings included Angela Simmons, Teairra Mari, DMC, Omarion, Rocsi, Fabolous, Love & Hip Hop’s Emily B. and Chrissy, Tika Sumpter and more!

Arcade Boutique Presents Fashion’s Night Out: LA Edition

Having a left a near circus behind on Rodeo, the tone on Melrose was slightly hipper and quite chic, in a very New York City-type way. Arriving at Arcade Boutique I was greeted by the tune of records being spun and the tempting scents from the city’s popular Grilled Cheese Truck –a welcome treat as I had worked up quite an appetite.

Right away, I spotted women’s shoe designer Jerome C. Rousseau with a glass of Bubbles N’ Berries, mingling with FNO’ers. I perused the fall collection — fun, feminine, eye-catching designs — and couldn’t help wanting to take them all home. What a talent! When I caught up with Jerome a little later I was pleased to find him so sweet and genuinely humble.

We chatted for a while and Jerome shared his thoughts on the importance of Fashion’s Night Out saying, “I’m excited to be here at Arcade tonight. We’re both independent businesses. I get lonely at work so it’s great to be here meeting customers and hearing their thoughts. Tonight is precious to me for that reason.” Continue reading →

Kendra Scott Fashion’s Night Out Recap

My second stop for Fashion’s Night Out was at the newly opened Kendra Scott jewelry boutique, a quaint and sophisticated alternative to the madhouse of events on Rodeo Drive, despite being only a few yards away. The friendly, glowing staff greeted me in gorgeous jewel-toned draped dresses, while glittering jewelry sparkled at me from every angle.

Tray-passed flutes of HPNOTIQ Harmonie and champagne — aptly named Bubbles N’ Berries — were offered and as I gladly accepted I had chance to talk about spring trends with Terrell, a Kendra Scott sales associate. I learned that the purple Agate stone is a very popular choice in the store’s Color Bar, where you can create your own custom pieces.

While mingling with some of the other guests, I inquired about everyone’s ideal girl’s night out. The most popular answers were of course shopping, dancing and intimate dinner parties. Well ladies, the next time you host your girls for dinner, I highly suggest serving up Bubbles N’ Berries. Your friends will thank you. Continue reading →

Guess Presents Fashion’s Night Out: LA Edition

My anticipation had been building all day as I anxiously awaited 6 p.m. –the official start time of Fashion’s Night Out on Rodeo Drive. Upon arrival, a towering Ferris wheel, rows of food trucks and performers on stilts crowded the street and set the tone for the carnival theme that awaited me at the GUESS store.

As servers in top hats greeted would-be-carnival-goers with mini cupcakes, cheesecake pops and HPNOTIQ Harmonie cocktails, guests received complimentary manicures and makeovers while the line for the photo booth snaked endlessly through the store.

If you’re looking for a girl’s night out, Fashion Night Out is it! Gaggles of gal pals surrounded me sipping and shopping. A shame it’s only one night a year, but that’s also what makes it so special. It’s fashion’s unofficial anniversary.

With my pretty purple drink in hand, I perused the fall fashions being presented by gorgeous models and danced to the tunes of a super stylish DJ. It was still early, but this was exactly what I needed to start the night off right. Continue reading →

A ways away from Lincoln Center — New York Fashion Week’s headquarters — fashion designer and Season 8 winner of Project Runway, Gretchen Jones, unveiled her contemporary Spring 2012 collection at Drive In Studios. A packed crowd lined up to take in the beautiful designs as they sipped on Harmonie Paloma cocktails.
