Having a left a near circus behind on Rodeo, the tone on Melrose was slightly hipper and quite chic, in a very New York City-type way. Arriving at Arcade Boutique I was greeted by the tune of records being spun and the tempting scents from the city’s popular Grilled Cheese Truck –a welcome treat as I had worked up quite an appetite.
Right away, I spotted women’s shoe designer Jerome C. Rousseau with a glass of Bubbles N’ Berries, mingling with FNO’ers. I perused the fall collection — fun, feminine, eye-catching designs — and couldn’t help wanting to take them all home. What a talent! When I caught up with Jerome a little later I was pleased to find him so sweet and genuinely humble.
We chatted for a while and Jerome shared his thoughts on the importance of Fashion’s Night Out saying, “I’m excited to be here at Arcade tonight. We’re both independent businesses. I get lonely at work so it’s great to be here meeting customers and hearing their thoughts. Tonight is precious to me for that reason.” Continue reading
