We recently caught up with LA fashion bloggers Emily and Terea, creators of the blog theSTYLEmap.com, at Be Your Best You’s styling suite to talk fashion, trends and the holidays.

What’s your style inspiration?

Emily: My style inspiration is definitely Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. I know that’s cliche, and everyone lists them as a style icon, but they’re definitely my biggest inspiration when I’m getting dressed.

Teresa: I would say my biggest inspiration is street style, and other bloggers’ style. If I see something cute, I’ll try and emulate it and see what I have in my own wardrobe that I could put together that looks cool like it too. Continue reading →

What are some of your favorite looks this season?

I love the transition to fall and wearing leather jackets over a dress with tights and boots. A great fall hairstyle is one that is done with soft waves or curls that does well with the help of no humidity!

What is the perfect girls night out outfit?

A great peep-toe stiletto or platform heel with a soft knit off the shoulder dress. The outfit must feel good on you for you to feel good in it!

What are great ways to incorporate aqua and violet into your wardrobe?

Aqua and violet hair extensions are so in right now!

How would you describe the overall style of Atlanta?

Hair accessories are great for summer; headbands, ribbon and feathers. I’ve also seen a lot of celebs wearing vintage and antique jewelry in their hair. Ladies We Love: Tammy Gail of Glam-A-Thon

Who is Tammy Gail? The founder of only the most fabulous FUNdraising breast cancer charity this side of pink!

Started in 2006 by breast cancer survivor Tammy Gail, Glam-A-Thon began with humble roots — don’t we all before a good highlight? — with just a couple hundred girls promenading in a mall, raising money for the cause, while window shopping.

Flash forward to 2011, now in its fifth year, thousands of women gather together for Glam-A-Thon’s signature event, the Glam Doll Strut, to strap on their stilettos and strut their stuff down a ¼ of a mile in an effort to raise numbers that continue to climb into the triple digits. With all that money staying here locally for our own fabulous females fighting the fight, Tammy Gail has let the women of South Florida know we are here for them. Continue reading →

Gretchen Jones Fashion’s Night Out Presentation

A ways away from Lincoln Center — New York Fashion Week’s headquarters — fashion designer and Season 8 winner of Project Runway, Gretchen Jones, unveiled her contemporary Spring 2012 collection at Drive In Studios. A packed crowd lined up to take in the beautiful designs as they sipped on Harmonie Paloma cocktails.
