A Look Into The World Of Oh Land

Last night at New York City’s Charles Bank Gallery, Oh Land — one of our bonafide Ladies We Love – performed an intimate set of songs to kick off her four night residency at the downtown gallery.

Accompanied by the the work of visual artist and boyfriend, Eske Kath, each night of the Welcome to Oh Land show is set to feature songs from her debut self-titled album which Oh Land herself describes as an album of “all of my secrets, wishes, dreams and fears,”

“I tell stories from my life wrapped in fairytales and fables all happening in the dreamy landscapes of a world I call Oh Land. I hope people will find an escape in the music and let their thoughts and dreams run wild, just for a moment,” she explains.

And last night was certainly full of whimsy as a string quartet accompanied the Danish beauty while the singer’s own ballet routines projected across a wall of large white balloons, Kath’s neon houses floated overhead and the album’s signature wreath of illuminated homes adorned the entrance.

The exhibition will be on view everyday until Friday from 12-7pm followed by a different interpretation of Oh Land’s set nightly at 8pm. Space is limited, so be sure to get there early! Take a look at Oh Land performing “Lean” with a string quartet after the jump…
