We first took notice of Emma Stone, with her raspy voice and Lindsay Lohan-esque appeal, in 2007′s Superbad as the love interest of a horribly awkward Jonah Hill. Since then, Stone has starred in a variety of off-kilter comedies, including Zombieland, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The House Bunny, and this year’s modern scarlet letter adaptation, Easy A.
There’s good news on the horizon for the up-and-coming actress come 2011– bringing forward some more mature roles for the 22-year-old Scottsdale, Arizona native. Not only is she climbing the charts of Maxim’s Hot 100 list, but we’ll be able to check out Emma Stone alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest names.
In addition to soon-to-be released films with Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Gerard Butler, Ryan Gosling, and Justin Timberlake, Stone has joined the cast of the newest Spider-Man remake, with The Social Network‘s Andrew Garfield, as Gwen Stacy– Peter Parker’s first love! The film, directed by 500 Days of Summer veteran Marc Webb, is set to start filming within the next few weeks. Talk about star power!
Simply put, Emma Stone’s laid back yet spunky girl next door vibe and funny bone streak, has put her at the top of America’s radar. Besides, we’re always fans of the kind of girl who could easily kick back a few drinks with the boys to watch the game, and wear a pair of Louboutins to a red carpet premiere the next night!
