9 Must-Have Items for Winter

Despite experiencing the wrath of old man winter, the season has yet to officially start. Fortunately, there’s still time for you to update your closet with a few winter must-haves before he really gets here on December 22. Just because the forecast may not be looking its best, there’s no need for you not to. Here are nine winter must-haves to keep you stylishly warm this season.

Capes

This fall/winter season the cape makes another strong appearance as a must-have outerwear piece.  It’s a great layering item that can be worn over extremely thick sweaters and pullovers. It is also a great piece to layer over another jacket for extra warmth.

Corduroy Pants

Although thick and durable, corduroy hasn’t always been look as a cool fashion must-have piece.  But this winter keep those legs warm by stocking your closet with a few pairs of heavy-duty corduroy trousers.  New shapes and hues have stepped on the scene to make the once boring textile a bit more fashion-forward.

Fur

Leather Jacket

There’s nothing more fab than a badass leather jacket. Even though it’s not recommended to be worn in extreme winter conditions, a sleek leather jacket can be great for layering.  Instead of your blazer or cardigan, include a little leather jacket to your look for a bit of an edge and extra warmth while indoors.

Just because there might be slush and snow on the ground does it mean you should for-go your keen fashion sense.  Rugged boots that keep your feet both warm and dry is a must-have shoe option for the winter season. Statement Hat

A great way to trap much of your body heat during the cold months is to cover-up your head.  This winter is no different then when you were a child and your mother urged you not to leave the house without your hat. What’s winter without an awesome chunky oversize sweater to get cozy in?

Textured Tights/Socks

No need to put away your mini’s and skirts for old man winter.  Keep them front and center by pairing them with this season’s hottest textured and heavy weight tights and socks in a variety of colors.
