While the entire fashion world has been obsessing over Spring/Summer 2011 this past week, let’s not forget that Fall is here. That means time for jackets, sweaters, scarves, and anything else you can wear layer upon layer.
We got a chance to catch up with Alice+Olivia stylist, Jennifer Patrick about the Top 5 Trends for Fall and how to incorporate them into your closet.
Leather: Leather leggings are all over the place this Fall, and the Alice+Olivia girl is no exception. And since not all of us can drop hundreds of dollars on leather, we’ve found some faux options to keep your chilly weather look super edgy. Cropped leather jackets with asymmetrical lines.
Animal Print: Once considered a serious fashion faux-pas, animal prints are back in a big way. The key with this bold statement is editing– wear a streamlined all black look with a fun animal print coat, or if you’re not as adventurous, accessories are the best way to incorporate this fearless fabric into your everyday wear.
Sequins: Perfect for a night on the town, sequins glam up just about anything. Wear an oversized sequin top with jeans for a daytime look, or a fabulous mini skirt to spice things up for night.
Feathers: One of our favorite looks for Fall is A+O’s Jocelyn Dress with a feather shoulder detail– flirty and feminine with a hint of glamour. For a slightly sexier affordable look, check out Lipsy of London’s take on the feather trend for a fraction of the cost.
Fur & Textured Outerwear: Big this Fall are textured shawl jackets– furs mixed with unexpected finishes like A+O’s Masha Metallic Faux Fur Jacket. Shearling is another great way to texturize your outerwear.
